DIY: Yarn Wreath

This a a DIY craft that is inexpensive but makes a long-lasting and thoughtful memento.

Items You'll Need:

1 package of yarn

1 18" straw wreath

Felt- complimentary colors to your yarn color

Hot Glue Gun

Scissors
Any other embellishments (i.e ribbon, letters, etc.)

Directions:

• Roll yarn into 2 medium sized balls. (This is helpful if you have smaller hands or having the kids make this.)

• Tie yarn around wreath, secure it with a tight knot.  Then start to wrap yarn around wreath.

• It's okay to have small gaps like this because when you are done you can go back and fill them in.  The first wreath I made I was uber perfectionist with it and had to fill every.single.gap. every time I wrapped the yarn around.  Believe me you'll save time & patience not doing that. 
• Wrap until you've reached the starting point.  Then go over any bare places with the yarn.  Once you are done tie another knot and trim excess yarn.

• Felt Flowers: I followed Danielle's tutorial.

Grab a piece of felt.

Cut all 4 corners off.

Cut a wavy border around the edges.

Take the scissors and cut felt into a spiral.  Then after cutting, wrap around your finger, scalloped side face palm and begin to wrap around until you've come to the end.

Glue the flap to the bottom of your flower.

Viola, a flower has bloomed!
